UK Sailmakers International, the parent company for the worldwide group of UK Sailmakers lofts, is seeking to hire a general manager to run its one-person office. The candidate must have marketing, bookkeeping, and office management skills, including managing the company’s finances. In addition to these diverse business and administrative skills, applicants must have a strong background in sailing and sailboat racing. More specific UK Sailmakers-related product knowledge will be gained upon engagement.
The marketing component of this position includes growing the company’s awareness through social media, including daily posts on Facebook and Instagram, producing print ads as well as adding pages and updating the company’s website, and producing content on a regular basis.
The applicant needs to be organized and a self-starter as he/she will be working largely independently with oversight by the company’s senior management and board. Since the job requires so many different skills, it may be divided up and filled by two part-time employees, so interested parties who may lack some of the stated capabilities should still apply, indicating specific areas of competency.
